January 2033 Gilt Looks Less Attractive Ahead of Auction

UK January 2033 Gilt Looks Less Attractive Ahead of Auction

0942 GMT – The U.K.’s new 3.25% January 2033 gilt looks less attractive at the current valuation levels ahead of the Debt Management Office’s auction of GBP3 billion of this gilt on Tuesday, say RBC Capital Markets analysts in a note. “After the sharp steepening of the curve in recent days, whilst we still remain skewed towards further steepening, entry looks less attractive at current levels,” they say. In addition, the Bank of England’s sale of the financial stability gilt portfolio which resumes on Tuesday, is likely to prolong the gilt’s underperformance, according to the analysts. (

General caution does, however, remain on the videogames sector for 2023 given consumer headwinds, Cousins says. Shore Capital has a buy rating on the stock.(
