The commission will discuss and take a vote on whether to change the zoning at 1150 Dixie Road, belonging to Brannon Industrial Group/Premier Metal Buyers, from a Local Business Residential Mixed Use District to an Industrial Use District.

The subject tract consists of a 3.77-acre portion of a 6.9-acre tract located on the east side of Dixie Road, south of Confederate Lane and bordering the Premier Metal Buyers business property at 1555 Highway 36 North.

Premier Metal Buyers plans to relocate to a larger location across Brenham, but has additional land to purchase and supplementary infrastructure to develop prior to doing so.  Until the new site is operational, the company says it needs the additional 3.77 acres for extra storage, fleet parking and vehicle/machine circulation.

The remainder of the tract would remain zoned for Local Business Residential Mixed Use and be utilized as a business office.

The commission will meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
